Luxury Design Loire Valley is a very special rental property in the Loire Valley châteaux region. This one-of-a-kind chateau is a savvy blend of old prestige and modern luxury with a layout that strikes the perfect balance of spaces for guests to come together or enjoy their privacy. It is a beautiful place to enjoy special times with family or friends, with the treasures of the Loire Valley on the doorstep.
If you’re looking for a luxury rental in the Loire Valley, then ChicVillas has exactly what you need; your very own private chateaux in a region that does castles like no other! This 17th-century chateau has been a family home for three generations and was recently renovated and revamped to deliver 21st-century luxury.
The décor is delightful and makes an eye-opening impression as soon as you step inside. Spacious rooms, high ceilings and a harmonious blend of shades and styles set the scene and make you want to step inside and explore.
What makes this property different from many others is the layout; instead of having shared living spaces and individual bedrooms, this chateau is made up of a number of self-contained two-bedroomed suites, ensuring total privacy and independence.
Upon arrival, you will step into a grand entrance. The ground floor of this fabulous property has a shared living space decorated with a collection of antique pieces that serves as both a lounge and an eight-seater dining room where guests can gather. Off the living area is a small kitchen.
On either side of the entrance hall are the two ground floor suites, each with two spacious en-suite double bedrooms. In the first and largest suite, original wooden floors and beams are teamed with trendy fittings and designer pieces of furniture and decor. Particular care has been taken with the lighting to create a peaceful atmosphere. The result is a discerning yet cosy environment that you will be glad to come back to after a day out visiting the castles of the Loire. It is welcoming, luxurious and noble – very much like the region! The two suite includes a kitchen area with everything you need to enjoy your breakfast in peace. The fully renovated bathrooms are very pleasant and are refreshingly modern and stylish. On the opposite side of the hall is the second suite, with a double bedroom and its bathrooms decorated in an elegant style throughout. The bedroom has a dash of exotic chic about them, while the bathroom feature a timeless black and white theme.
Heading up the old wooden staircase to the first floor, you can capture the atmosphere of a period castle. With the limestone walls symbolic of the Loire châteaux, a vaulted niche, antique furniture and hangings, portraits and statues, this small space is worthy of a stage set!
The first floor also has a spacious 50 m² living and dining room that mixes current trends with historical artifacts, and a third private suite. The suite features contemporary style with subtle finesse. Carpets, lighting, and a combination of fabrics, colours and furnishings have been carefully selected and coordinated. The suite includes a breakfast kitchen and the bathrooms are everything you would expect from a luxury rental, with clean lines and muted hues. The most delightful aspect of this luxury property is the way it skillfully blends the grandeur of a chateau with the warmth of a family home.
All rooms have a flat-screen TV, there is a Nespresso coffee machine in the suites and hair dryers are provided in the bathrooms.
Outside, the 5000 m² garden comes with stylish outdoor seating and dining furniture and a circular swimming pool, so apt for this atypical luxury rental in the prestigious Loire Valley.

With castles, museums, vineyards, good food, great wine and outdoor sports, the Loire Valley has it all.
The Loire Valley is famous for its castles, with one in almost every town. Visit those in Saumur, Boumois, Montsoreau, Brézé, Chinon and Ussé, before heading on to the bigger and better known names such as Villandry and its gardens, Azay-le-Rideau, Chenonceau or Amboise. And this is just a taster; 1,000 to 3,000 castles were built in the Loire Valley during the French 100 Years War. Over time the castles lost their military vocation and the Loire Valley became the garden of France, with castles and gardens inspired by the Italian Renaissance.
The history of Saumur’s vineyards dates back even further, to Roman times. The Loire Valley is the third largest wine region in France due to its fair climate and limestone soil. It produces white, red, sweet and sparkling wines such as the bubbly crémant. The Ackerman estate is the biggest wine producer, and a visit of their cellars is a must! You can drive or cycle along the Loire Valley wine route. If you choose to bike it, make sure you stop off at the Domaine Bouvet Ladubay to visit its troglodyte cellars with a headlamp !
The Loire à Vélo is an 800 kilometres cycle path that follows the route of the river. Choose how far you want to go and the sights you want to see along the way. Visit the Loire à Vélo website to plan your trip: https://www.loireavelo.fr/carte
Another unmissable prestigious visit, the Cadre Noir in Saumur is the national riding school which was originally the cavalry school founded in 1825 in Saumur. The Cadre Noir trains the crème de la crème of riding instructors. It embodies the values of the French riding system and its savoir-faire has been recognized by UNESCO as an intangible heritage. Whether or not you’re a horse fan, visiting the Cadre Noir is a unique experience and a great way to learn some French history in a stunning environment.
Learn more about France’s military history at the Cavalry museum and the tank museum in Saumur.
Enjoy a family day out at the Bioparc zoo in Doué la Fontaine where more than 1,000 animals live in enclosures dug into the same type of limestone rock as the walls of your rental chateau.
The Saumur part of the Loire Valley is known for its troglodyte caves dug into the limestone tuffeau rock underneath the ground that house everything from homes, and wine cellars to mushroom farms and restaurants, and are well worth a visit for a unique experience. Les Caves de Marson and L’Hélianthe are two restaurants with very different styles, but both will give you a delicious introduction to the local specialties.
