If you’re looking for somewhere that offers next-level space and style for your group getaway, then look no further.
This 14th-century castle in the South of the Loire Valley could be plucked straight from the pages of a fairytale. Majestic turrets and towers dominate beautifully-kept leafy gardens, offering a rare opportunity to experience chateau living. Why settle for visiting the castles this region is famed for when you can settle into a chateau of your own? Authentic French Chateau certainly has the wow factor and will effortlessly provide a stunning backdrop for the holiday of your dreams.
History lovers will be enchanted with the chateau’s past, from the original keep which dates back to the 12th century, to the metre-and-a-half-thick castle walls that continue to fortify and insulate the property today. And the tower - an exact replica of the Tour des Marques at nearby Chenonceau castle - is simply delightful.
This rental castle is a haven of peace and the definition of French chic. Its countryside location is perfect for switching off from the world and the only sounds you'll hear are the birdsong, whispering leaves, and the laughter of your guests.
So cross the footbridge over the dry moat, step inside and poise yourself to be whisked back in time...
The property comprises the main chateau and a separate tower.
The main building has an unusual four-storey layout and a spiral staircase.
The ground floor is used for meals and dining and includes a large kitchen and a dining room with an open fireplace and a piano. The dining room can seat 10-12 guests.
A sunny conservatory opens out onto the garden and is furnished with a sofa and armchairs and a second dining table.
The main lounge is located upstairs on the second floor. A vast 90m² reception room stretches the length of the floor and is ideal for relaxing and socialising. Features include an ornamental fireplace at each end of the room, a French billiards table and a seating area with a TV. Dusky pink shades and low timber beams create an inviting atmosphere that will draw families and friends together.
On the first floor, the three recently refurbished en-suite double rooms have maintained a traditional style, while air-conditioning and modern bathrooms provide added comfort.
On the third floor are a further five bedrooms for adults and children with patterned wall coverings from beginning of 20th century and period furniture blending. The décor is absolutely lovely!
The tower is separate from the main building. It was added in the 19th century and is a copy of the tower at Chenonceau castle. Inside, there is a delightful circular bedroom on the first floor with twin single beds and a bathroom on the floor above.
The chateau's estate is delightful. The mature trees and bushes that surround the property have been there for hundreds of years, providing guests with total privacy in the garden and around the pool. There is also a pétanque court and a barbecue. Stroll through the peaceful gardens to admire the magnificent centenarian sequoia tree, beautiful flowers and a small fountain, and keep an eye out for wildlife!

August 2024 / One-week stay: "We had a great week. The owners had prepared a very nice and copious arrival brunch for us. In a beautiful region with perfect weather. "Authentic French Chateau" is equipped with very good bedding and everything you need in a house to be comfortable, spacious and not lack anything."

September 23 / One week stay : "First we stayed at "Authentic French Chateau" before "Bretagne Bord de Plage". The chateau is peaceful, extraordinary, well maintained and an excellent base for visiting the chateaux of the Loire. A car is a must. The guardian is exceptionally attentive. The main floors are air-conditioned. We are Americans and travel to Europe once a year. I prefer to book through a management company rather than AirBNB or similar. Our experience with ChicVillas was very positive. I would book through them again and would not hesitate to recommend them"
