Perched on the hillside, guests will enjoy fabulous panoramic views of the countryside from the chateau, the estate, and the swimming pool. High ceilings and large windows make this spacious property a bright and pleasant place to holiday in style with a large group. Escape to the chateau to experience the very best of the South of France.
ChicVillas brings you this wonderful property for your French chateau holiday, sure to win over all your guests.
This spacious 16th century castle comprises a luxurious main building plus a more informal annexe. The main building is a perfect venue for gatherings and sleeps eight guests in four suites. The annexe can accommodate a further eight guests in more modest rooms, yet without compromising on style or comfort.
The main chateau comprises living rooms and suites which are connected by lovely long hallways and has a total floor space of 600 m².
The entrance hall sets the tone as soon as you enter: majestic, sophisticated and sumptuous.
The living areas include two cosy lounges, one with a fireplace, the other with a TV.
The impressive size and facilities of the open-plan kitchen place it resolutely in the luxury category. This is ultimate French country chic: a mix of warm shades, period furniture and up-to-the-minute appliances offers the best of both worlds. The chefs in your party will love the AGA ranger cooker and semi-pro equipment, while other guests can keep them company while chatting and enjoying the beautiful open views of the countryside. This is a kitchen made for togetherness. Huge French windows add light and sun, with a balcony on one side and a terrace on the other.
The chateau has been recently renovated using noble materials which set off the impressive volumes and create a feel of grandeur and luxury throughout. The understated and uplifting décor goes perfectly with the chateau’s countryside character.
This property is a subtle combination of old and new: the authentic stone walls and wooden shutters on the outside reveal nothing of the fully integrated sound system on the inside!
The bedrooms are on the first floor, located off the long stone landings. The master suite is an exceptionally spacious 60 m² with an immense en-suite bathroom of the same size with a bathtub and shower.
The other three suites are more classic, each with its own en-suite bathroom with bath and/or shower.
The floral design of the living rooms is carried through to the bedrooms. More high ceilings and large windows provide unhindered views of the surrounding countryside and create a feeling of space and liberty. The bathrooms are a perfect blend of rustic chic and modern sleek, again combining fine and natural materials to create character, space and style.
Château Balcons du Gers is close to a village classed as one of the Most Beautiful Villages in France and ticks all the boxes for a luxury getaway at an upscale French country holiday home.
This property can comfortably accommodate up to four families with children or seven couples.

A stay in the Gers region of south-west France is all about the countryside. Think walks in the forest, on the rolling hills or around the many lakes such as the Montréal-du-Gers lake. Château Balcons du Gres is on the GR654 hiking trail, a section of the Way of St James pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela which walkers will be delighted to explore. For those less keen on walking, the river cruise on the Baïse River from Condom is another option for discovering the area. There is also a great choice of cycling routes.
Whether you choose to visit the area on foot, by bike or by boat, your route will take you from village to village. Many of them here are officially listed among the Most Beautiful Villages in France and come with a fascinating history. Don’t miss Larressingle, Fourcès, Eauze, Montréal-du-Gers, Valence-sur-Baise, and Condom. History buffs will be in their element with a plentiful array of paleontological sites, Gallo-Roman sites, medieval enclosures, bastides, cathedrals and castles.
Your itinerary is sure to lead you to the many vineyards in the area - vineyards account for more than 50% of the Gers department. This is the home of Armagnac, Floc de Gascogne, Côtes de Gascogne, and Madiran. If you don’t already know the names, you certainly will by the time you leave! This fertile corner of France produces sweet white, dry, red and rosé wines. There really is something for all palates!
There are lots of things that south-west France does well and food is one of them. A trip to the market is an experience in itself. Depending on the day head to the towns of Condom, Nérac or Eauze. You can also buy directly from the local farmers. The Gers is the land of poultry, foie gras, confit, duck breast, Gascon beef, garlic, melon, and cheese. Why not sit back and simply enjoy the local delicacies? We can arrange a private chef to cater for you at the château (for an additional charge).
