Pearl of Loire Valley – Luxury property for rent in the Val de Loire

A rental worthy of a fairytale castle

For your holiday, give yourself an enchanting break, come and live the château life in the heart of the Loire Valley. The Pearl of the Loire Valley château, a genuine fairy tale château is waiting for you for a magical stay. Perched on the edge of a plateau overlooking a large wooded park including some hundred year old oak trees, it’s nestled in a green oasis in the immediate vicinity of a small village in the Loire Valley.

As soon as you step foot inside you will be charmed by the multifaceted estate of this castle for rent.

A property with style and charm

The first level of this luxury property consists of a series of rooms with varied styles and atmospheres. Opulent-looking intimate lounges, formal dining room or other snooker or cocktail lounges, there will always be an area for you to enjoy depending on how you feel at any given moment.

For your meals, you have several options: an everyday dining room adjoining the kitchen and opening onto the garden, a more formal dining room beautifully decorated in wood. Unless you would prefer to travel in time by choosing the vaulted troglodyte room reminiscent of the Middle Ages. There, you will dine under the enigmatic gaze of a knight in period armour...

The perfectly equipped kitchen has a particular charm. On one side, it opens onto the shaded patio, a sort of interior courtyard with light tuffeau walls, ideal for eating during the hottest hours of the day. On the other side, it accesses a large relaxation area opening onto the terrace and the swimming pool, offering you another option for your meals.

The enchantment continues upstairs in the château in the utmost sophistication. Nine luxurious suites with personalised decoration are spread out for the happiness of the guests. As with the lower levels, the styles are eclectic and everyone can make their choice depending on their tastes. Classic, château style or more modern, they are decorated with luxurious wall coverings, fabrics, carpets or sumptuous wooden floors. Comfort and space are their common points: the majority of the suites have a lounge area and they all have an adjoining bathroom with a period bath tub or a more modern shower depending on your taste.

Outdoor spaces designed for your well-being

On the outside, the lovely pool area is the natural extension of the living areas. The care and finesse of the interior can also be found in the garden with perfectly maintained pathways and flowerbeds.  The pool area has a beautiful and large 14 by 7 metre heated swimming pool, several relaxation areas furnished with sofas, deckchairs, and other garden furniture.

A small vegetable patch on the terrace is available to you if you would like to try some salads or recipes with seasonal and extremely fresh vegetables.

Finally, for sports lovers, in addition to the fitness room with a view of the swimming pool, a ping-pong table, a trampoline and bikes await you. Behind the château, the garden allows you to take lovely walks through the undergrowth.  It also offers a play area for the whole family.

Less than one kilometre away from this holiday château, you can easily walk to one of the renowned villages of the Loire Valley where you will find all of these amenities: shops, restaurants, cafés and a market with local products... not forgetting the famous castle to visit.

Luxury rental in the Loire Valley, things to see and do nearby:

Due to its perfect location in the heart of the Loire Valley, a stay in the Pearl of Loire Valley château will be an opportunity to discover the rich heritage of the Loire Valley, the region was added to the Unesco World heritage list in 2000. Less than one hour away you can discover :

The chateaux de la Loire

- The Saumur Château, an imposing building dating back one thousand years and looking over the town and the Loire Valley. Beyond visiting the château, you can stroll through the very pleasant town and discover its lively and colourful market (Sunday).

- The Montsoreau Château: Built in 1450 on a rocky platform on the Loire riverbed, today it is bordered by it due to the movement of the riverbed. Since 2016 it has been a museum of contemporary art, active in the dissemination of contemporary creation in all its forms.

Don't forget to visit the charming village of Candes-Saint-Martin located 2 kilometres upstream of the Vienne river.

- The Chinon Château is raised above the medieval town and the Vienne valley offering a view over the vineyards which expand across the south bank. Visiting the château is like taking a journey through history and go back to 1205, the date the Keep was built. The town below is also worth a visit.  Here you will find some lovely places to eat.

- The Azay Le Rideau Château: A building emblematic of the French Renaissance shaped by Italian influences, its a masterpiece of sophistication. For literature lovers, don't forget to visit the neighbouring Saché château, today dedicated to Balzac.

- The Villandry Château: One of the last châteaux built during the Renaissance. It has kept the keep dating from the medieval period. The Villandry Château is particularly famous for its gardens. Originally French gardens, they were turned into English gardens over the centuries before rediscovering their original French garden style at the start of the 20th century. An estate where greenery is king, the gardens being a tourist attraction have since been enriched with a diversity of areas for the enjoyment of children and adults alike: spectacular vegetable garden, love garden, garden of simples, sun garden, water garden, maze...

Must-see cities and monuments

- Richelieu: The town of Richelieu was built by the Cardinal of the same name, minister to Louis XIII, is a unique and surprising heritage. This elegant city of mansions, perfectly arranged, was created from scratch and rises up in the middle of the countryside. If it wasn't for the presence of cars, you could easily imagine that you’re in a 17th century town.

- Tours: regional capital, town of Art and History the historic centre of which is a Unesco heritage site, old Tours with its lanes and its half-timbered facades is worth a visit.  This trading city is perfect for a stroll, and you can also find quite a few good places to eat.

- The Fontevraud Royal Abbey: With its fourteen hectares it’s the largest monastic city inherited from the Middle Ages. It is also the final resting place of Eleanor of Aquitaine, Queen of France before becoming Queen of England and her son Richard the Lionheart

Nearby, you can take a detour to the Rabelais Museum located in the Seuilly commune. The museum situated in the Devinière manor, birthplace of the writer, enables you to discover the world of François Rabelais and understand his place in French literature.

The Loire Valley wines

And of course something has to be included for wine lovers. The Loire Valley is a region blessed by the Gods for wine lovers, it produces reds, whites and rosés but also quality sweet and sparkling wines, some of which are renowned. You can also have tastings directly in the château or the wineries in Saumur, Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil, Chinon and Vouvray. You can also visit the Maison des Vins d'Anjou et de Saumur located on banks of the Loire in Saumur (Carnot quay next to the tourism office). Created by the producers’ federation, you can discover a selection of wines representing the expertise of the area and receive precious advice.

Picturesque villages to visit in the Loire Valley

In order to profit fully from the fantastic landscapes of the Loire Valley and the Touraine countrysides nicknames “the Garden of France”, during your trips, take the small country roads, take the time to dawdle, to stop off in the heart of typical and charming villages. A dining suggestion: make a stop at one of the open-air cafés on the Loire riverbanks. They’re summer restaurants, outside with local, simple food, perfect for enjoying a moment among friends under the stars around a glass of Cabernet de Loire (Rosé to be drunk chilled).
