The idyllic Spirit of Provence is a luxury rental villa in Provence. This beautiful old farmhouse exudes French country chic inside and out, with its honey-coloured walls, wooden shutters and an elegant pool. A boules pitch and shady spots under the leafy trees complete the picture-perfect setting. Welcome to life in the Luberon!
Welcome to the Spirit of Provence. Settle in and slip into the typical Provencal lifestyle, where the pace is set by sunshine and slow living. This beautiful large holiday home is ideal for groups. Space, style and leisurely luxury await for a holiday to remember.
The smooth stonework and rippled tiles of this Provencal mas – the name for a traditional Mediterranean farmhouse – set the tone from the moment you embark on the sweeping cypress and lavender-lined approach. Think holiday in Provence and this is what springs to mind. Take in the swimming pool, the shady spots under the trees, the inimitable fragrance of Mediterranean plants and a fountain in the courtyard of the building’s horseshoe layout as you anticipate the delicious days that lie ahead! Wrought iron garden furniture and a pergola complete the picture-perfect layout.
The pool is naturally treated with magnesium and there is also a pétanque court where you can while away the hours playing French boules.
The house has a traditional U-shaped layout with three wings. Each of the East and West wings has a living area and four bedrooms or suites, making it ideal for group holidays with family or friends. There’s plenty of space for guests to enjoy as much privacy or together time as they like, and for children and adults to enjoy their own quarters. The central part of the house has a large games room and a TV that will keep younger guests happy throughout their stay.
In terms of shared spaces, the East wing has a living room with an open fireplace and a grand piano and a separate dining room for eight people. The West wing has a large open-plan living space comprising a lounge area with a fireplace and a dining table that seats all 16 guests.
Each wing has its own kitchen. The large professional kitchen in the West wing opens onto an outdoor dining area with a table for 16 under the pergola, and a seated area. Perfect for morning coffee, lazy afternoons or pre-dinner drinks.
Inside, the décor favours soft hues and natural materials. Stone walls, exposed timber beams and plain or artfully distressed wooden furniture create a soothing cocoon of sophisticated simplicity.
The East and West wings have a total of eight bedrooms. Each room is spacious, with high ceilings and wooden beams, and has its own private bathroom. The ambiance is natural, elegant and pared down. All the bedrooms are air conditioned: the West wing has split air conditioning while the East wing has a centralized system.
Provence is a huge region in south-east France and covers countryside, mountains and the coast. Spirit of Provence is in the Vaucluse area, just a short drive to a picturesque village with shops and restaurants. The property is well located near the vibrant town of Avignon and the Luberon Natural Park. There are many more pretty villages nearby, including Gordes, Roussillon, Ménerbes and Lacoste. Head south and you’ll come to the hilly Alpilles Natural Park with views of Mont Ventoux which peaks at 1910m.
