Ideally nestled in the Bay of Morlaix, this beachfront Brittany villa offers a breathtaking view of the ocean and is perfect for families looking for a peaceful and authentically French holiday property. The owners have opted for a sober and relaxed style which lends itself to an easy and enjoyable stay. The luxury of this villa in Brittany lies in its prime seaside location where the waves, sea spray, and the ebb and flow of the tide perform their endless, enchanting ballet. There is nowhere better to unwind and recharge your batteries.
The bright and spacious ground floor is perfect for family gatherings, with a 45 m² living room and a large dining table for 10 people, all set off against a fabulous sea view. It is ideal for reading, relaxing or meditating by the fire. An adjoining 20 m² TV lounge is also very bright and offers another space for kicking back and taking it easy.
This family villa is spread over three floors and has five bright bedrooms decorated in a simple style. Pale blue hues, natural wooden flooring and timber beams create a harmonious, cosy and relaxing atmosphere.
There are two double bedrooms on the first floor, one of which has direct access to a bathroom with a shower and a bath. On the second floor there are two beautiful bedrooms with a view of the sea, one with a double bed and the other with twin beds. The third is a children's room with two single beds and a view of the countryside. There is also a shared bathroom with toilet. In each of the five bedrooms, the openings let natural light flood in and ensure you don’t miss a drop of the scenery outside.
The mature garden creates a fabulous setting for your family holiday in Brittany. It is closed off and leads down to the edge of the sea, with plenty of space for dining, relaxing and playing. Gathered around a barbecue or comfortably installed on the deckchairs, you will be lulled by the lapping of the waves and enjoy sunsets that you’ll remember forever. The sandy beach is literally a stone’s throw away, making it easy for some or all of your party to nip out for a quick dip or sandcastle tournament without having to worry about logistics. The nearest village is within walking distance. Not only does it have shops and restaurants, but it’s also packed with all the character you’d expect from a Brittany fishing village.
There are plenty of other coastal villages to explore on walks and bike rides, taking in the rich array of landscapes typical to this region: rocky escarpments, pebbled beaches, small marinas, estuaries, moorings and fine sandy beaches. Morlaix lies between the Coast of Legends and the Pink Granite Coast in Brittany and is has the official status of a Town of Art and History. It is a delightful Breton town with magnificent timber-framed houses that history lovers will enjoy. You won’t be able to miss the Morlaix viaduct, a superb 58-metre high railway structure which overlooks the old town and the port. From the port, you can catch a boat for a tour of the bay, one of the most beautiful in Brittany.
Roscoff is a historic peninsula town that has been shaped by the sea. It has all the pull of a seaside resort combined with the charm and character of an old Breton port. Spend a leisurely afternoon strolling around, taking in the elaborately decorated shipowners' houses and the Gothic church.
Guerlesquin lies at the entrance of the Armorique Regional Natural Park in the Monts d'Arrée foothills and has as many architectural sights as it does scenery. The surrounding countryside is dotted with historic French monuments and heritage, with chapels, fountains and shrines at every turn. Head to Guic lake or the old pond for scenic walks – the lake covers 33 hectares so there is plenty to see.
Plouezoch' is a historic town that is definitely worth a visit for its ancient ruins and listed monuments. Admire the St Antoine chapel, the Château des Taureaux, the tide mill, St Etienne’s church or the Cairn of Barmenez neolithic monument.
Locquirec, meanwhile, has a choice of beaches. From lazing around to hitting the waves, it has something for the whole family. The village was developed as a seaside resort towards the end of the 19th century when the first regattas were held, and hotels and homes rapidly sprung up on the seafront.
Batz island is a small community located offshore from Roscoff and offers a complete change of scenery. It has a reputation of being low-key and discreet and its assets are the variety of its flora and fauna, its history, and the friendliness of the locals. The atmosphere and setting is unique and it’s a car-free zone: you can only get around on foot or by bike.
The bay of Morlaix and the whole of the Breton coast makes a wonderful playground for holidays with children of all ages. Take your pick from mountain biking, tennis, tree climbing, pony trekking or water sports: surfing, ecoskiing or sailing. There is a sailing school and surfing and diving clubs in the area.
No holiday in France would be complete without food and Brittany has more than its fair share to offer! Local staples include seafood platters, savoury buckwheat galettes and sweet crêpes, andouille sausage, and buttery cakes and pastries such as the unpronouncable kouign-amann cake, far egg flan, and crumbly palet breton biscuits. The region is also very proud of its local brand of pâté, Hénaff, which French astronaut Thomas Pesquet took into space with him!
And to wash it all down, there is of course the go-to traditional Breton cider, or for something a little different, try chouchen – an amber-coloured wine made from honey that goes perfectly with melon – or a godinette, a delicious cocktail made with strawberries from Plougastel, brandy, muscadet, sugar and raspberries.

September 23 / One week stay : "After "Authentic French Chateau", then we stayed in Brittany at "Bretagne Bord de Plage". Exceptional views, you hear the waves, you see more stars at night than you've ever seen. You can walk to the beach and a few restaurants. The next town is only a few minutes away by car. The best croissant you'll ever taste awaits you at Sauveur & Tradition Boulangerie Patisserie. The house is comfortable, clean and well maintained. We are Americans and travel to Europe once a year. I prefer to book through a management company rather than AirBNB or similar. Our experience with ChicVillas was very positive. I would book through them again and would not hesitate to recommend them"
