Mer ou Campagne is a typical Breton home, with stone walls, a secluded garden, and oodles of fresh sea air. This former farmhouse has been completely refurbished, keeping its original charm intact and upgraded with stylish additions. It is set on 4,000 m² of land, with an old farmyard at the front and an enclosed south-facing garden at the rear. It also has two sunny terraces which are perfect for sitting out and enjoying breakfast, coffee or lunch in peace.
One of the best features of this holiday property is its location – it enjoys endless views of the surrounding countryside, with the sea just less than two kilometres down the road. That’s where you’ll find the harbour and the local sailing school – sign the children up for sailing lessons for a holiday that keeps everybody happy! Older children can even cycle there on their own. There are two restaurants at the port and you can taste and buy oysters straight from the oyster farm. The neighbouring village (5km) has everything you need in terms of shops and restaurants and has a market on Tuesdays.
This is a house where you’ll feel right at home. Its cosy, simple layout is designed for easy living and a hassle-free holiday. The traditional stone walls are stylishly offset with modern openings that let the light flood in and create a bright and airy feel.
A functional open-plan living space includes a lounge, dining room and kitchen, which make it easy to chat, play and relax together or keep an eye on the children while you prep lunch or relax in the sun. Again, the stylish combination of old and new: a large open fireplace and vaulted window surrounds feature alongside a resolutely modern kitchen.
The living room is comfortable and perfect for relaxing throughout the year. Curl up by a real fire in low season or step out of the large bay window onto the patio outside to soak up the sun in the summer. There is a large table that seats eight inside, and garden furniture for outdoor dining. Wherever you eat, you’ll be within easy reach of the kitchen.
Next to the kitchen is a reading nook and study, which leads through to the utility room - great for dropping wet kit when you get back from the beach!
The cottage has four bedrooms, one of which is in an annex attached to the house with an en-suite bathroom. The other three bedrooms are on the first floor and share a bathroom. All the bedrooms are bright and spacious. The design is cosy and inviting, featuring exposed beams, a stone fireplace in the master bedroom, parquet flooring and solid wood doors.

Brittany is all about rugged coastlines and unspoilt wilderness. It’s a great place for a family holiday where you can really switch off. This property is in the Bay of Morlaix, between two stretches of coast: the Côte des Légendes and the Côte de Granit Rose.
The beaches (Térénez, Saint-Samson) and water sports (sailing school at 1.5 km opened all the year, ecoski water skiing, surfing, stand-up paddle bording, diving, kayaking), are high on the agenda for holiday activities, but there’s lots to do inland too. Hike along the coast – it’s on the GR34 hiking trail – go horse riding or play tennis.
You can also visit the local sights: visit the Chateau du Taureau and the little islands in the bay, or the Maison à Pondalez, a 16th-century timber-fronted house. Morlaix (15 km) and Roscoff (40 km) are worth visiting. From Roscoff, head off to l'Ile de Batz in 15 minutes.
Seafood connoisseurs will relish freshly harvested oysters straight from the oyster farm and head to the Roscoff fish market for the catch of the day, while everyone will enjoy the Grain de Sail chocolate factory in Morlaix. And, of course, you won’t want to miss Brittany’s hallmark dish of sweet crêpes and savoury galettes – a delicious and versatile meal for the whole family at the Le Goûter Breton crêperie near the cottage.
- Morlaix TGV train station: 10 km
- Guingamp TGV train station: 65 km
- Brest-Guipavas airport: 60km

August 2023 / One week stay: "We enjoyed the property a lot. A beautiful farmhouse in a lovely location. The property is very well furnished, very homely with a modern twist. It feels like a family home and very welcoming. We felt that nothing was missing and would certainly visit again."
