This chateau is one of the biggest private estates in Languedoc. This exceptional property is set in an immense park, in a typically Mediterranean landscape. You will be soothed by cicada song as you overlook pine forests, olive trees and hills of wild lavender.
The common areas warmly welcome over 20 guests, in a décor that calls back to the time of Queen Victoria and the Empire, complete with canopy beds, elegant furniture and comfortable sofas (you’ll find some in the bathroom, transforms them into a salon, like a Victorian boudoir).
The living rooms offer modern comfort, including a lounge that can be transformed into a private cinema. You’ll be able to relax completely in the bedrooms and suites, regardless of how many people are with you.
Outside, as well as admiring the spectacular view over the Minervois vineyards, relax on the banks of your personal lake, the impressive swimming pool or in the shade in the dining area where you can enjoy Languedoc’s mild climate.

Admire its tree-lined banks that are reflected in the calm waters.
Carcassonne isn’t the only place where history comes alive. Visit the Abbey of Saint-Hilaire, a Benedictine abbey dating back to the 8th century, or the Cathar chateaux of Saissac, Termes, Peyrepertuse and immerse yourself in history. A Cathar trail that connects Port-la-Nouvelle in Aude and Foix in Ariège, feature hiking stops at some of these chateaux.
The region offers many opprtunities to practice sport as well : there are some footpaths accessible to horse riders and a golf course just 15 minutes from the chateau. Water sports are even possible at beaches not far away at Port la Nouvelle and Collioure seaside resorts. The more adventurous among you can try wild swimming in the rivers or take advantage of water-based activities, this time on the Cavayère lake.
For culture, don’t miss the Carcassonne festival: in July, it showcases dance, theatre, Opera and even classical music… On the 14th of the same month, for the national day, enjoy a world famous display above the medieval city that is much more than a simple fireworks display. The chateau is the best place to admire it without suffering from the crowd.
Enjoy local food: fish, honey and olive oil, cassoulet of course, as well has numerous other local products that have inspired several Michelin starred chefs who have set up shop in the region.
Finally, your visit wouldn’t be complete without discovering the vineyards and wine cellars that are part of the landscape. Several designations are rooted in Languedoc : Malepère, Cabardès, Limoux, Corbières… Minervois will delight you with Syrah, Grenahche, Carignan or Mourvèdre wines.
