This very special property is set on a vineyard in Bordeaux and has everything we love about France; ornate buildings, art and wine. Guests can expect great weather, fabulous views and delicious tipples.
Heart of Médoc is a 19th-century mansion which was recently renovated by an art lover, bringing contemporary flair to the décor.
What was once a secluded retreat now welcomes guests and artists as a luxury chateau getaway. The setting has retained all its peaceful charm in the heart of the Haut-Médoc area of the Bordeaux wine region and offers an upmarket experience with high-end services.
Beyond a wrought iron gate, a sweeping driveway leads to the ornate façade. Inside, a majestic lobby features a designer ceiling light and paintings by a French and British artist who graduated from the Fine Arts school in Paris. The modern artworks cut a striking effect against the old stone walls.
The lobby leads to two bright reception rooms, one on either side. The same contrast is carried through into the living room, where ornate mouldings and wooden floors are offset by contemporary statement furniture. The designer ceiling light is a nod to the candles used in times gone by and a retro painting of Central Park confirms the artist’s penchant for mixing up styles. On the other side of the lobby is a dining room and a fully fitted kitchen. Breakfast is included in the stay and served in the dining room by the fireplace or by the window overlooking the grounds.
The ground floor also houses two double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. Soothing pink, white and grey tones have been used in all the bedrooms. French windows open onto the vineyards and let in the soft light that the south-west of France is renowned for.
On the first floor are two large suites, including the 40 m² master suite. These spacious rooms are decorated in muted colours with a dash of pink in keeping with the other bedrooms. The master suite features traditional furniture coupled with modern designer light fittings, and the bathrooms are elegant and sleek.
There is a lift up to the top floor of the chateau, which houses a second dining room and a lounge area. This floor has been designed as a modular space which can be closed off or opened up as required. Tall windows afford sweeping views of the estate and create a lovely backdrop for dining. Guests can enjoy a complete French gourmet experience with food paired with wines from the estate or the region.
Outdoors, the chateau’s vast well-kept grounds and swimming pool add to its luxury appeal. Vineyards stretch into the distance and the secluded setting lends itself to peaceful relaxation. Sun loungers and outdoor furniture are provided for soaking up the sun and unwinding in luxury.
Breakfast and maid service are included, and a concierge is available to ensure your stay is everything you want it to be. Guests are offered a complimentary visit of the wine cellar and the vineyard including a wine tasting session.
This luxury property can comfortably accommodate one or two families with children or four couples.

Visitors come to Bordeaux for a reason, and Heart of Médoc is perfectly located for visiting the region’s famous vineyards.
The Médoc is a very green region in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine part of western France. Our luxury chateau lies in the heart of the countryside here, flanked by the Atlantic Ocean and the Landes forest, and just a short drive from Bordeaux. There’s certainly lots to do.
The Médoc wines grown here get their taste from the warm maritime climate and gravelly soil. The name Médoc can be interpreted as "in the middle of the water" and it was not until the 16th century when the land dried up that vines were able to grow. French, English and Irish merchants funded this new venture as they understood the qualities of these dry soils. Today the region produces 30 million litres of Médoc wine each year, from three main varieties of grape : Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The name Médoc is an AOC of Bordeaux wines and includes 94 crus bourgeois with the prestigious appellations of Haut-Médoc, Médoc, Saint-Estèphe, Pauillac, Saint Julien, Listrac-Médoc, Moulis-en-Médoc and Margaux. This property is located right in the heart of this reputed region and is a wine lover’s paradise as the chateau produces its own wine.
