Whether it’s for leisure or business, or maybe even both, Barcelona Grande is perfect for groups.
This palatial Spanish residence is infused with Mediterranean elegance. Space and light are plentiful inside and out, ensuring that all guests can enjoy privacy and company in equal measure in a traditional Catalan environment.
The shared areas include wide corridors and halls, living rooms, libraries, dining rooms (two) and a meeting room. High ceilings, wood panelling, old furniture and plush fabrics give the property a bright and subtly sophisticated feel that will appeal for all types of social or corporate gatherings.
The villa was built in the twentieth century and successive refurbishments have honoured the elegance of the original style while enhancing it with modern comforts. It is listed as a protected building by the local Catalonian government. The architectural style has inimitable Spanish flair, with arches, rounded doors and windows, and wood panelling and furniture featuring throughout, alongside metal and ceramic fixtures. Traditional decorative tilework confirms the theme, appearing on floors, walls, ceilings and even furniture.
The main building has thirteen bright and spacious bedrooms and twelve bathrooms. In typical Spanish style, natural colours and floral patterns feature prominently on the floors, ornaments and artwork. The interior has a soothing and uplifting feel to it. Tall windows with wooden shutters look out onto a delightful garden. Most of the bedrooms have a garden view, and some overlook the nearby Mediterranean Sea. A small guest house provides another bedroom and a more secluded atmosphere.
Fianlly, the villa is set among five hectares of grounds which are a delight to walk around. A beautifully maintained garden is home to century-old Mediterranean species, colourful bougainvillea, and includes ponds and water features. And there’s plenty of opportunity to enjoy the sunny climate and get outside. Whether it’s for family fun or team building activities, guests will enjoy facilities such as outdoor seating and dining areas and a lovely seventeen-metre pool. There’s also a tennis court, basketball court, table tennis table and an area for the traditional Basque game of pelote.
A catering service is available at an additional cost.
Barcelona Grande is situated in the independent region of Catalonia, a popular tourist destination known for its vibrant towns, historic buildings and sunny climate. Barcelona is Spain’s most visited city, attracting eight million tourists each year. With the sea, the city and the countryside all within easy reach, there is certainly plenty to do.
This property can comfortably accommodate up to twenty-seven people for a group of family and friends, or thirteen business attendees.

This coastal area lies between the Mediterranean Sea and the mountains of the Serralada Litoral natural area and has blue flag beaches with clear waters. It is also a thriving wine region.
Visit some of the many quaint villages nearby, such as Allela, Caldes d'Estrac, Premià de Dalt, Sant Vicenc de Montalt and Sant Pol de Mar. They all have plenty offer, from splendid architecture, an interesting history, beaches, restaurants and wine, and host festivals throughout the year in honour of antiques, Medieval celebrations or food. Golf, horse riding, hiking and sailing are all great ways to enjoy the local scenery.
Golf is a popular pastime on the Costa Brava and can be a great corporate activity. There is a golf course right next to the property and another one, the Sant Andreu de Llavaneres course, few kilometres down the road. The villa has excellent outdoor facilities for all types of guests, including a tennis court, swimming pool, table tennis table and a basketball court.

And of course, the vibrant city of Barcelona is just thirty minutes away by car or train, packed with historic buildings, edgy shops and pavement cafés for partaking in the laid-back Spanish lifestyle. Barcelona is the administrative capital of the independent Catalonia region and has eight UNESCO-listed buildings, which is more than anywhere else in the world. Many of them were designed by Gaudi, the famous Catalan architect who shaped the city and built seven of the UNESCO-listed buildings. The most famous is the Sagrada Familia, one of the largest churches in the world. His other works include Guell park, featuring Gaudi’s ceramic works; the Palau Guell building built for a wealthy captain of industry; Casa Mila with its wave-shaped architecture; Casa Batlo, a huge and quirky house; and Casa Vicenc and Casa Calvet.
Gaudi isn’t the only artist in Barcelona’s hall of fame. The painter Miro was also from Catalonia and his works are displayed at the Miro Foundation centre which was designed by another Catalan architect, Miro’s friend. Picasso was also very attached to Barcelona and he studied at the Fine Arts school here. Today the city has a museum in his honour.
Barcelona is famous for its markets, restaurants and nightlife. Many of the region’s delicacies are well-known around the world; tapas, paella and creme Catalan are enjoyed far beyond the Spanish borders. Barcelona is a foodie’s paradise, packed with delicious eateries, from informal tapas bars to Michelin-starred restaurants (ten, no less!) including the three-star Lasarte restaurant.
